Pac-12 team moves up for Mixon

Joe Mixon said earlier this month that Washington is an early favorite especially because teammate Darrell Daniels is going there but after visiting Cal last weekend and heading up there again for the Stanford game the Golden Bears are making a push.
Mixon, a 2014 running back from Oakley (Calif.) Freedom, said he had a great time during his unofficial visit for the UCLA win and he's hoping to land an offer this weekend.

If that doesn't happen, the Golden Bears will remain high on his list and Mixon said he likes the coaching staff and how Cal plays the game.
"Cal was good," Mixon said. "When I first got there we just toured the campus and then after we did that we went on the field and we took a lot of pictures and watched the players. After that we went to the stands and watched the whole game.
"After the game we got a chance to talk to the coaches, we met them and they met us and they really loved me. It was a really good trip.
"They really didn't get into an offer but I'm hoping the next time I go down there they offer me and I'm going to be there this Saturday."
Mixon, who has rushed for 891 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season, said he enjoyed watching Cal's running backs in action and he likes the team overall. An offer would be something to seriously consider.
"I have a lot of interest in them," Mixon said. "I'm not going to say it's a dream school that I've always wanted to go to but I love their program and I love the way they play football.
"Washington is looking good too but I've been talking to Cal a lot. Washington is still right there though."
Oregon State is the lone offer for Mixon, who said Nebraska and Boise State have also recently reached out.
