Pac-12 team leads for Thompson

Olito Thompson went to Cal's recent junior day and enjoyed it so much he probably plans to return for summer camp and said the Golden Bears have jumped to the top of his list.
That is big news especially since the Concord, Calif., running back doesn't have any offers yet but is hearing from Nevada, Oregon State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Stanford, Boise State and others.

"I liked it a lot," Thompson said. "I was hanging out with the running backs coach for a little bit and he seems pretty cool.
"It was good there. They have all those new facilities that I like. They have a great new weight room. Everything is just really nice there especially their locker room. Everything is just new there."
Thompson, a 5-foot-10, 210-pound prospect, said he's planning to return to Cal this summer and he hopes to pick up an offer at that time.
After rushing for 3,488 yards and 34 touchdowns on 408 carries in his junior season, it might only be a matter of time until even more big-time programs get involved with the Northern California prospect.
He said he's looking forward to talking more with Cal this off-season.
"I didn't really get to talk too much about offers because it was more about introducing the school to us," Thompson said of his weekend visit. "They did in fact want me to come to their camp during the summer around June.
"I'm planning to do that. I'm still hoping they will offer me because from what I've seen so far I like them a lot and they're at the top of my list."
Because Thompson wants to show off his game this summer, the Concord prospect is not rushing a decision. He's hoping to hear more from schools in the coming months - especially Cal - and then figure things out later on.
"I'm being patient," Thompson said. "I want to wait until the summer so I can go to all these camps and then see who offers me."
