Pac-12 school offers Texas DB

Frisco (Texas) Liberty was one of the bigger surprise stories in the state in 2010. Picked to finish no higher than third in preseason polls, the Redhawks finished the regular season undefeated and made it to the third round of the Class 4A state playoffs.
Though the offense and Boise State running back signee Jay Ajayi received a lot of credit for the big year, Liberty's defense was also strong all season. One of the standouts on that side of the ball was safety Izaiah Robinson. The 6-foot-2, 178-pound junior recently received his first offer from a Pac-12 program.

"I was offered by Washington State," Robinson said. "I had called the coach a little while back and we were just talking and he told me they were offering me. I had only talked to him one time before but when I called him I had a feeling an offer might be coming.
"I don't know if anybody else is about to offer just yet. They've asked me to come out to spring games and practices and camps but no offers yet."
Though Robinson has yet to visit Pullman, he has been to a pair of other campuses recently.
"I went to the spring game at Oklahoma State," he said. "I also went to Georgia a while back. I'm supposed to go to Houston some time. I really liked it at Oklahoma State. It's a nice campus and the coaches are really nice. I really liked Georgia too. They had been sending me mail and talking to me so I flew out there to see the campus and visit the coaches."
Though neither has offered yet, Robinson says two programs have kept in close contact with him.
"I talk to either Arizona or Georgia the most right now," he said. "We get our pads on Monday for spring ball and they're both supposed to come by the school."
The big defender says no schools could currently be considered his leader but does admit that some may have an inherent advantage.
"I know I want to stay close to home," Robinson said. "Anything around Texas sounds good to me. Anything like Texas Tech, Oklahoma State or Arizona - schools like that are the ones I like right now."
Robinson earned first-team all-district honors this past season after posting 44 tackles, including one sack, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
