Pac-12 offer for Jackson twins

Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall is a regular stop for college recruiters in the Houston area. The school can be counted on to produce multiple Division I recruits every year and the class of 2012 is no exception.
While linebacker Ryan Flannigan and cornerback John Gibson are the two most well-known prospects at the school, a pair of twins has also come onto the scene as of late. In fact, cornerback Vershad Jackson and athlete Rashad Jackson both just picked up their first offer.

"Washington State offered today," Vershad Jackson said on Thursday afternoon. "They offered both me and my brother. We talked to coach (Todd) Howard and he offered us.
"I talked to him last week for the first time. He had said he liked both me and Rashad when we talked to him then but we didn't know an offer was going to come this soon."
Jackson says the brothers plan to visit Pullman soon.
"We're both going to take an official visit up there in the fall," he said. "We also might go to a camp up there on June 20. That's the plan right now but we have to see how the money situation is before being sure."
While Washington State is the first offer, it does not appear that it will be the last for the Jackson brothers.
"We've been hearing a lot from a lot of schools," he said. "SMU, UTEP, Baylor, TCU, Iowa State, North Texas and some others have been in contact the most. SMU and UTEP are both very close to offering. North Texas is too."
Though both brothers measure in at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, they have different skillsets and are being recruited for different positions at the next level.
"Schools are all looking at me to play cornerback," Vershad said. "They say, at the college level, my brother could play wide receiver or cornerback. I guess he's being looked at more as an athlete in general."
The brothers would prefer to play together in college and Vershad admits that a trio of schools has their attention at this point.
"Washington State, UTEP and SMU are the main three that are standing out right now," he said.
We've talked to the UTEP coach a lot and it sounds pretty good. So does SMU."
