Dohnovan West has been talking to the UCLA coaching staff for a good amount of time but when the offer from the Bruins came in recent days, the 2019 offensive lineman was still thrilled.
It was his first offer. And definitely a memorable one.
“I have been talking to UCLA for a while now,” West said. “Right now, UCLA is definitely a school that I can see myself going to. I’ve gone to a couple games with my family and I liked the coaching staff a lot.”
UCLA got on the board first but many other programs are already showing interest in the 6-foot-4, 290-pound standout.
This past weekend the Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany prospect went to USC and saw the Trojans take down Arizona.
Another good time and a school that could continue to emerge in West’s recruitment as he moves through his junior season.
“The SC game (Saturday) night was cool,” West said. “The atmosphere in the Coliseum is crazy. With USC it is still early on in the recruiting process but I’ve been talking to coach (Gavin) Morris.”
The recruiting process has just gotten started for the Alemany offensive lineman but he said Washington, Washington State, Cal and Fresno State have all reached out recently.
