Pac-10 teams interested in Knox

Chase Knox is mainly hearing from four programs but after such a big junior season at San Diego (Calif.) Madison the pro-style quarterback could be getting more attention real soon.
Washington State, Oregon State, Colorado and Utah are the four teams involved with Knox, a 6-foot-1, 188-pound recruit who completed 153 of 289 passes for 2,596 yards with 30 touchdowns and five interceptions this past season.

This month Knox plans to visit Washington State and Oregon State to get a better feel for those campuses. More unofficial trips could happen as well.
"I just want to talk to the coaches a little bit and see what the campuses are like," Knox said. "I have to make sure I like the campus and I'd like to check out some practices, too.
"Last year I just got a lot of letters that were printed out and now I'm hearing more personal things. I'm just trying to find a good academic fit, that's the most important thing, and then find some coaches that I like. Coach (Jay) Locey is awesome over at Oregon State, coach (Jody) Sears at Washington State is an awesome guy so those are two schools that really stand out."
Those schools are the main ones showing interest in Knox, who already sent out a batch of highlight film but is sending out more because some coaches wanted to see him throw the ball more regularly. There is definitely interest but it could be some more time before offers start coming in.
"Oregon State said they really want to see me," Knox said. "Most people when I send it to them they say I'm a good athlete with decent speed and I have a nice release but they want to see more throwing than that. I kind of started out throwing 15 maybe 20 times per game and by the end of the season we were throwing 25 or 30 times per game. They want to see games where I threw more and I put together that tape and I started sending it out.
"I'm excited about it. The process could be long but I'm trying to find a good fit. It would be cool to have some offers and maybe be verbally committed to a school by the end of this year."
BYU, Boston College, Hawaii and some other schools are showing interest in Knox, who said he's interested in all offers but that the Pac-10 programs stand out most.
"There aren't like one or two favorites," Knox said. "Those four really stand out but I've been talking to BYU as well and there are some other schools that aren't showing as much interest. I'm keeping my options open but I really like the Pac-10 the most. I like the area and the schools so the Pac-10 is definitely on the top right now."
