PA star to make Midwest trip

Franklin (Pa.) Area star Nate Byham is one of the country's top tight end prospects. Byham has been a varsity starter at inside linebacker since his freshman year. And despite starting at tight end for the first time during his junior season, he is projected to play that position in college.
And why not? The 6-foot-4 and 220 pound Byham caught 45 passes for 883 yards, averaged 19.6 per grab, and scored nine times. For his work Byham was named all-conference, all-district, and third team all-state.

This standout athlete was also a second team all-state selection in basketball where he averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game during his junior season.
But it will be football at the next level for Byham.
"I have about 18 offers or so," Byham said. "I haven't really narrowed things down yet.
"This summer I'll go out to Iowa sometime. And on my way there I'll stop at Ohio State and Purdue.
"I'll probably take official visits to a couple schools farther away like USC and Miami.
"All of them have offered.
"Another school I'll visit is Pitt. And I want to look at Clemson and Tennessee as well. They offered too.
"Pitt, Iowa, Miami, USC, Oklahoma, Tennessee, I'll look at all those schools.
"Tennessee is the only one that has actually called, but a lot of them came to my school."
