PA Safety Taking It Slow

Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt defensive back Vince Beamer is off to a great start this season. However, his success on the field has diverted his attention from recruiting.
"I don't have any official visits set up just yet," said the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder. "I'm hoping to do that soon, very soon but our season is my focus."

Beamer, who has no interceptions on offense because no one throws his way, has caught 15 touchdowns passes from NC State verbal commitment Marcus Stone. While Stone is working on him to take a visit to NC State, Beamer has other ideas right now.
"My top five are Boston College, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pitt and Virginia," he said. "Distance doesn't matter, it will be all about how I feel with the coaches and players."
Beamer expects to have his official visits set up over the next month. He said most schools want him as a free safety although West Virginia said he could play either safety or wideout.
"I'll make a late decision," he said. "I want to see all five places first."
