PA S/RB likes BC, Pitt, PSU

James Carson is a hard-hitting safety/running back from Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep. While last year was his first as a starter, he posted very impressive statistics on both sides of the ball. Does he have an idea of where he wants to play college ball?
“I really don’t have a favorite, but there are some schools that I like a lot," said the 6-foot-0, 205-pounder. “Boston College has a great offense and they run the ball a lot. They are also recruiting me as hard, or harder, than any other school.

“Penn State has great facilities, and the coaching staff is very knowledgeable. They are also recruiting me very hard. Pitt has a great coaching staff, and they are fairly close to me.”
Carson, who plans on taking all of his official visits, is also interested in Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Syracuse. He also took an unofficial visit to Tennessee, which he enjoyed. What will help him decide where to play his college ball?
“A lot of things will come into play. My parents advice will go a long way I think.”
Carson wants to decide during the season. He says that while many schools like him as a running back, he likes being on defense so strong safety is his preference. As a junior he rushed for two scores while making 60 tackles on defense. He was a first team all-metro selection as well.
