Pennsburg (Pa.) Perkiomen School cornerback Abdul Smith pulled in his fourth offer not too long ago. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder added the latest scholarship from the ACC following a visit to the school.
"I got an offer from Maryland on the junior day there," he said. "It was nice. They have a nice campus and I liked it a lot up there. They have a lot of good players. I talked to Coach Friedgen for 15 minutes and he gave me a scholarship. He talked to me about Dominique Herald and how Maryland is a good fit for me.
"Then I took a tour around the campus and talked with some other prospects. I really liked the campus a lot. It was a nice campus and the players had nothing bad to say about it."
What does Smith think about the offer following the trip?
"I'm glad about the offer, it's pretty nice go get one from Maryland. I know they are looking for a lot of defensive backs," he said. "I think Rutgers could be on the verge of offering too."
Maryland was the most recent visit for the Keystone cornerback, but before that he made a trip up to Connecticut.
"I was up at their junior day the week before," he said. "It was pretty nice too. The campus was good and the facilities were very impressive. They have a lot of new stuff."
Smith plans to take more visits in the near future to Rutgers this week, West Virginia this weekend, Pittsburgh later this month and Penn State on April 5th.
Plenty of other colleges are also looking at Smith including Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia and more.
