Owls offer Houston kicker
One of the state of Texas’ top kickers earned his first scholarship offer about two weeks ago, so who stepped up to offer Houston Strake Jesuit kicker Luke Juist a scholarship?
“I was offered my Rice,” Juist, who is 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, said. “I’m going to take an official visit there this weekend. I don’t know what to expect, but I’m hoping that I get a chance to see if it’s a lot like home. That would be neat to feel at home at a school that’s close to home.”

But Juist said he’s hoping that Rice won’t be his lone offer.
“I really hope Air Force comes through,” he said. “They’re looking at me in both football and in soccer. I’m just waiting to see what happens.”
Duke is also talking to Juist, who earned all-state honors as a junior.
