Overman has Oregon State visit set

The recruiting process for Anaheim (Calif.) Servite tight end Jake Overman has been steady for the past few months in terms of landing new scholarship offers. Going back to last October, he's landed a new offer every month (except November).

"I think it's been fun," Overman said of the recruiting process. "I think it will pick up during the spring time. It's definitely been a fun time that's been going on so far."

His offer in the month of December came from the Oregon State Beavers. He's enjoyed conversations the past couple of months with tight ends coach Brian Wozniak and running backs coach Michael Pitre, his area recruiter.

The Beavs have been recrutiing him hard.

"Yeah they definitely have," Overman said. "I'm in a lot of contact with Coach Wozniak. We try to get on the phone once or twice a week. We catch up and see how things are going. I talk to Coach Pitre, the running backs coach over there."

Overman has other offers from Colorado, Utah State, Arizona, and UNLV, and his recruitment will heat up with more offers likely on their way. Oregon State is looking to make their mark on his recruitment.

"They're really trying hard; I'm going up there to see a practice and hang out with them on April 5-6," said Overman.

When Overman visits OSU in April for a spring practice, he'll keep an eye on Wozniak.

"He's a great guy," Overman said. "He really seems like a great coach. I'm looking forward to seeing how he coaches and his relationships with his tight ends. I'm looking forward to that."

Overman has a few visits set this spring and also plans to get to Colorado and UCLA, although those visits haven't been set yet.

"I'm going to see Oregon State the 5th and 6th," he said. "I'm going to see Washington the 12th and 13th of April, I believe. I'm also going to see Arizona March 27th and 28th. I'll visit Wisconsin sometime in May. I'm also going to camps as well."
