OU and OSU up next for Texas WR

Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider wide receiver David Nelson continues to rack up scholarship offers as the spring evaluation period goes on.
“I have gotten scholarship offers from Colorado and Nebraska this week,” the 6-foot-5, 195-pound Nelson said. “I may be getting one from Notre Dame in a few weeks.”

Nelson has been on the go this spring visiting Kansas State for the Wildcats’ spring game. This coming week he will head north again.
“I am going to go to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State next week,” he said. “I am just going up there to check out the schools. There really isn’t anything special going on. I am just going to check them out.”
Nelson’s phone has been ringing off the hook recently, too.
“Coach (Bill) Snyder from Kansas State called me on Tuesday,” Nelson said. “Arkansas called yesterday and I talked to Notre Dame and Coach (Greg) Peterson, the offensive coordinator at K-State, today.
“Coach Peterson came by the school last Friday, and he will come again tomorrow. All of the Big 12 schools, Arkansas, LSU, and all the area teams have been by this month too.”
Nelson does not think he is close to making a decision.
“I would like to think I am close to making a decision,” he said. “But, probably not. I haven’t gotten a chance to see and talk to all the schools that I want to.”
