To date Cal is the only FBS school that has verbally offered Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith linebacker Kanyia Anderson.
Old Dominion is his other offer but Anderson is hoping more are on the horizon.
"Right now I've been communicating back and forth with Illinois and a coach from Pittsburgh. I've been talking to those two," Anderson said. "Early on I had a few schools talking to me but those are the main ones for now."

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker said he doesn't have any visits coming up. Over the summer he hopes to visit Cal but that's not exactly an easy trip.
What does Anderson think of the Bears?
"It's a good program," he said. "The education is great. It's a good football team. I've talked to them weekly and I keep in contact with them a lot.
"I don't think it's too far fro home. I think it would be a good experience to go somewhere new."
