OT takes UConn unofficial

Union, N.J. offensive tackle Desmond Stapleton continues to receive a lot of interest from schools across the country. In just the past month the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder took an unofficial visit to Connecticut.
"I basically went up there just to see the school, campus and facilities," he said. "I got to meet the coaches and overall it was a pretty good trip. I enjoyed myself."

Stapleton plans to take another unofficial visit this spring to Charlottesville.
The lineman prospect continues to receive mail from schools including the Huskies, Virginia, Rutgers, Boston College, Penn State, Maryland, Notre Dame and others. What is the Stapleton looking for out of a school?
"I'm really looking for a school that will provide me playing time and a good location. That's basically it," he said. "I don't really want to be that far away from home if I can help it and I would like to get some playing time in my first couple years. I know it's difficult to get it as a freshman, but sometime in the early going would be nice."
Last season Stapleton was named second team all-conference. This spring he plans to attend the Elite College Combine at Rutgers.
