OT Johnson lands his second offer

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park junior offensive line prospect Ramone Johnson (6-foot-4, 310 pounds) is now the second Morgan Park Mustang to land an offer this week from Northwestern University. Johnson received his scholarship offer paperwork in the mail on Monday afternoon and talks about his latest offer from the Wildcats.
"I had a bunch of mail waiting for me at school on Monday after being off last week for spring break," Johnson said. "I finally had a chance to open all of my mail and I have received a scholarship offer from Northwestern."

Johnson is excited about getting an offer from both in-state Big Ten schools this spring.
"It's a real honor to get an offer from Northwestern. I went to a game in Evanston last fall and I really liked the overall atmosphere for the games. The fans were really into the game and it was a fun place to see a game in person. Obviously when you think of Northwestern academics comes to mind, and a degree from Northwestern is really hard to beat. I'm really excited to have two early offers from two Big Ten schools."
Johnson has continued to receive hand-written mail from several schools this spring.
"I've been getting more and more hand-written mail from Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA and Iowa. It's definitely cool to be getting so much early attention from these schools, but I also realize that I still have a ton of work to do. The attention is nice, but I'm still just trying to get better and not let any of the attention go to my head."
Johnson is also hoping to check out a few spring practices over the next few weekends.
"Since we had such an early spring break, it's was hard to get out to check out any spring practices. I'm hoping to get to both Illinois and Michigan over the next few weeks."
