OT Franklin pulls first offer

Upper Marlboro (Md.) Wise offensive tackle Jai Franklin nabbed his first offer recently. The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder discussed the offer as schools from across the country are moving in.
"My first offer is from Old Dominion," he said. "They offered my friend Antonio Harris and I on the same day a couple weeks ago.

"I was shocked. I didn't really think offers would come that quick, that fast. It's surreal when it happened. The good thing is two other players from my team will be at Old Dominion next year if I chose them, but I've still got another year until February."
Franklin is getting quite a bit of mail from the likes of Virginia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Boston College, Wisconsin and Syracuse. Franklin intends to head to camps this summer to check out schools more.
Does he like anyone?
"I grew up a Virginia Cavaliers fan, but where I want to play is a different level," he said. "I do have a friend there in Khalek Shepherd. In addition, it's one of those things where I just grew up liking them and watching them, I haven't really heard anything from them though."
So, what does Franklin want in a school?
"What I want is a school that has the right programs for me," he said. "My major is No. 1, I want to major in physical therapy. I want something related to that category. I also want a school that is good, so I can win. I want a school that is good at my positions, offensive and defensive line.
"As for location, I actually grew up in Virginia for 14 years before moving up here. Location doesn't really matter to me, I don't want to be somewhere too cold or too hot."
