OT Dorrestein draws his first offer

Plainfield (Ill.) Central junior offensive tackle prospect Perry Dorrestein (6-foot-6, 283 pounds) landed his first scholarship offer this spring on Monday morning.
"The coaches from Toledo tried calling my house on Monday morning," Dorrestein said. "I had already left for school, so they called my head coach (John Jackson) and told him that Toledo was offering me a scholarship. I called the Toledo coaches later in the day and they confirmed the scholarship offer."

Dorrestein talked about landing his first offer from the Rockets.
"I'm definitely excited that Toledo has decided to offer me a scholarship. I've been hearing good things about the facilities at Toledo. Toledo is a consistent winner in the MAC conference and they have had teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally. I've never been to Toledo but I'm going to try and check out the school possibly this summer. My family and I are really excited to get an early offer from the Rockets."
Dorrestein has continued to draw plenty of recruiting interest during the May evaluation period.
"I've received roughly 20-25 calls so far in May. Michigan, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Notre Dame, Ball State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan have all called along with several Ivy League schools and some D-1AA schools. We've also have had several college coaches make in school visits. I really don't have a count but I'd say we've have averaged at least 1-2 coaches in school per day in May."
Dorrestein has also set his summer camp plans
"I'm planning on camping this summer at Notre Dame, Northwestern, Purdue and Michigan."
