OSU, WVU meet with Gwaltney

Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel and a few members of his staff made the trip to Long Island, N.Y. to meet with North Babylon running back Jason Gwaltney on Wednesday while three assistant coaches from West Virginia were in to see him on Thursday. So where does his recruitment stand?
"Both meetings were good," said the 6-foot-0, 234-pounder, who will make his announcement on ESPNews on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 5:20PM EST. "Ohio State was very direct and straight up. They told me how much they needed me and how I was the perfect sized back for the Big Ten. They talked about Big Ten football and how I would be used. They said I could come in right away and challenge from day one."

And West Virginia?
"That was good too, I met with three coaches and told me how they plan on using me in their offense. They showed me some of the carries and yards that guys like Amos Zereoue had there to prove they run the ball a lot."
USC was in to see Gwaltney on Tuesday and he's happy the dead period is approaching and this will all be over soon.
"It gets tiring," he said. "It's really cool and all, but it can wear you down too. I've met with the coaches from the three schools now for the last time, they'll all probably call me early next week and I'll make my decision."
Is he leaning any which way?
"Not really," he said. "Ohio State and Southern Cal have been my favorites for a while and West Virginia came back in the last week or so. It's not going to be an easy decision."
Gwaltney is ranked as the No. 15 player in the country overall and No. 3 running back.
