OSU, UCLA to battle for Texas DE

Pearland, Texas, strongside defensive end Cyril Obiozor is one of the better defensive end prospects in the state of Texas, but it looks like the state of Texas is the last place that he’ll be playing his college football at.
Obiozor (pronounced like Obi-a-zor) lists Oklahoma State and UCLA as his top two teams and he said he’s likely going to pick between the Cowboys and Bruins when it’s time to make his decision. Both teams have offered a scholarship in writing, along with Missouri and Pittsburgh.

“Oklahoma State was the first to offer me, and that means a lot to me,” he said. “They were the first to believe in me and take that step. I really like the way UCLA has recruited me. Eric Bieniemy has been recruiting me since I was a sophomore. I’ve never been out there, but I will take a visit for sure.
“But I’m going to probably make a decision between Oklahoma State and UCLA. I’ll take my visits during the season.”
So officially, he said his top list looks like this - Oklahoma State, UCLA, Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas and Texas Tech. He has an oral offer from A&M and Tech, but nothing in writing yet.
Obiozor said he’s been working hard this summer and only has plans to camp at TCU’s one-day camp in Houston later this summer. He’s also helping his team out in seven-on-seven tournaments.
“I play tight end and linebacker out there,” he said. “I get to cover guys one-on-one, and that helps me out with my speed and I’m not afraid to get in there and give a guy a little extra contact.”
