OSU to get first crack at RB

Ranked as the nation’s No. 3 all-purpose back means you have high expectations, and for Reserve (La.) East St. John star Derron Thomas, those expectations are soaring through the roof. It’s a good thing that he’s able to more than meet them and surpass them with more than 1,200 yards rushing with a few more games left on the schedule.
“I’d trade all those yards for an undefeated record,” Thomas, who is 6-foot and 185 pounds, said. “But we’re still doing all right, and I’m personally having a big season, so that is still kind of satisfying. I’d still rather win them all, though.”

Thomas has the attitude the college coaches love to hear, and there are plenty of them lining up to land his commitment.
“I have two trips scheduled,” Thomas said. “I go first to Oklahoma State on November 7 and then Nebraska on November 14. I’m still wide open to about everybody. I like Florida State, Michigan, Miami, LSU, Colorado, Oklahoma State and Nebraska.
“They all have very good running backs and good systems for running backs. That’s what I’m going to look hard at.”
