With a young team around him, Houston (Texas) Yates athlete Orie Lemon has been doing as much as he can at the quarterback spot to have a big season for his teammates.
However, the Houston squad is 2-4 on the season but the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Lemon is not about pointing fingers. Though his performance is good, he always is pushing to be better along with the rest of the players on the talented squad. One thing that has stayed constant over the last several months is his recruitment that continues to stay hectic.
A leader is still clear, but has some company.
"I still like Arkansas a lot and they lead, but now Oklahoma State is tied with them right now," Lemon said. "It's because OSU is a team that I've had a chance to watch and I really like what they're doing with all the players they're bringing in."
Lemon is not about to rush a decision that he has repeatedly stated will be in January or February of next year. However, he does know one of his favorites will get a trip this fall from him.
"Oklahoma State is a definite," Lemon said about a trip. "That one is for sure."
His brother, Eli Lemon, is a junior that is already being talked about as a highly touted prospect for the 2007 cycle. Where the older brother goes may have an effect on the younger Lemon.
"He told me that he might go where I go the other night," Lemon said. "But, at the same time he has to do what he has to do and I understand that."
