OSU is first stop for Lufkin trio

Lufkin (Texas) running back E.J. Shankle along with Lufkin teammates Leonard Hewitt and Mandela Roberts make up of a trio of players wanting to go to the same college and that process took them to Oklahoma State this past weekend for a visit.
The three-star rated all-purpose back Shankle and the rest of the trio took in the Oklahoma State game when the Cowboys took on Arkansas State for non-conference match-up and a win. After the visit, it appears that the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect enjoyed his time.

"We had fun, it was real cool," Shankle said about the official to OSU. "I wasn't expecting the coaches to be that cool. We talked to the offensive coordinator and the wide receivers' coach and just went over some film. They talked about what they needed at wide receiver and how I could come in there and help the team."
Texas A&M was at No. 1 and LSU was No. 2 before the visit, according to Shankle, and he explained that has not changed being his only official visit done.
"I really haven't changed my top schools because I haven't taken official visits to LSU and Texas A&M," the No. 59 rated player in Texas said. "I still have them above the rest with A&M at the top because I just feel like they're recruiting me the hardest."
Shankle was going to wait to see A&M when they take on Texas, but it appears that he may be doing that earlier. LSU is close to being set for this weekend.
"It's up in the air right now, I'm just trying to get that together now to check them out," Shankle said about an LSU trip. "I'll probably call the coaches on Wednesday at the latest."
It looks like the trio is set to see LSU this weekend if all goes according to plan followed by Texas A&M.
