OSU in the lead for R250 DE Campbell

Defensive end Kyree Campbell has offers from a number of the nation's top programs but one is standing out among the rest. The Ohio State Buckeyes have made a very strong impression on the Woodbridge (Va.) Freedom star.
"Ohio State is at the top," said the 6-foot-3, 268-pound Campbell. "I don't have a list but they're up there. Coach Johnson is the best defensive line coach in the NCAA. He's great and I already have a strong connection with him because he knows my father. He coached him in high school at T.C. Williams."

Campbell saw what Ohio State has to offer firsthand when he visited in July.
"I went to Ohio State for Friday Night Lights," he said. "It was great. I loved it. We got there and they showed us the athletic building, locker and everything. After that we did the camp. I stayed until Sunday and they showed me around the campus, the dining hall and everything. I was with coach Larry Johnson most of the time and after that I talked to coach Meyer."
It sounds like Campbell will have a very busy visit schedule during the season.
"We're trying to fit a visit to South Carolina in before football season," Campbell said. "I'm not sure that'll happen. During the season we are scheduled to go to Alabama VS Auburn, Ohio State at Maryland and we were going to go to Ohio State VS Michigan but that's on the same day as the Alabama game. I know we are supposed to catch a South Carolina game and probably a Michigan game but I don't know the dates of those."
Campbell knows of two schools that will make his short list.
"I'll probably have my list of top schools before the season starts," he said. "It'll probably be a top five. Alabama and Ohio State will definitely make that list."
LSU, Michigan State and Oregon are starting to show interest in Campbell.
