OSU hosting OL Ruble

Ohio State is continuing a string of big time visitors with the arrival of Brock Ruble today. The offensive lineman from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha has offers from several BCS programs.
"I've never been to Ohio State," said the 6-foot-8, 321-pound Ruble. "I've only watched them play on TV so I'm going in with an open mind and not really expecting anything. Since I got the Ohio State offer, I've been in contact with Coach Zack Smith and the offensive line coach over the phone. The relationship has grown since that day."

While Ohio State is one of the few schools to get Ruble on campus, the Buckeyes are not the only program he is considering.
"There are a lot of schools that are sticking out to me," he said. "A few of them are N.C. State, Florida State, Tennessee, Maryland and Ohio State.
"Everything with the other schools is going well," Ruble said. "I'm keeping in touch with the recruiting coaches, offensive line coaches and some times the head coach or offensive coordinator. I'm just trying to keep in touch with all the schools right now.
"I can't compare the relationships I have with all my schools because they're all a little different," he said. "The relationships I have with Ohio State are a lot newer than the other ones but I'd say they're growing at pretty much the same rate as the other ones. Every relationship is different."
Ruble hasn't taken a lot of visits but did recently take on to N. C. State.
"I visited N.C. State on July 17," said Ruble. "The visit went great. The whole day was wonderful. We got to see everything, talk to the head coach, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Coach McNutt was showing me around everywhere so it was a great day. I've talked with him before. He came to two DeMatha works outs and I saw him when I was down at N. C. State earlier in the spring."
It doesn't sound like Ruble will be taking much more visits and could be close to making some cuts.
"I believe this will be my last unofficial visit," he said. "After this one I'll sit down with my family and talk about making a shorter list and we'll go from there. The season is right around the corner and this is the last visit we could really fit in. It's a possibility that I come out with my list before the season starts."
Ruble was one of the top offensive performers at the Richmond RCS.
