Oscar Smith WR adds his first offer

Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith wide receiver Jamal Wilson has landed his first offer this week. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder picked up the scholarship while on a junior day visit to his leader.
"I went up to Maryland over the weekend and the coaches gave me all the paperwork for my offer," he said. "I think I've actually been offered by them for a while, I didn't know it."

Wilson went on to discuss his trip to College Park.
"I was up there for the North Carolina basketball game," he said. "That was great. They've got some really good fan support. I had a headache afterwards because it was so crazy.
"I also got to talk to coach Friedgen and Brattan. I really like coach Brattan's personality. He made me feel comfortable. As far coach Friedgen, he's a great coach and I like the way he controls his team on the field. He gets his players to play hard every game."
The 2008 wide receiver claims the Terrapins are currently leading for his services.
"I actually grew up liking Maryland a lot," he said. "I'm going to hold off on a commitment. I want to visit some schools first."
In the near future, Wilson plans to participate in the Baltimore Nike Camp.
Besides Maryland, plenty of other colleges are showing an interest in the Oscar Smith star including Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Louisville, Michigan and Ohio State. What is Wilson looking for out of a college?
"I just want to go and get an education," he stated. "I want a coach that respects his players and hopefully go somewhere I could play early. I know it's unlikely I'll play as a freshman, but I want that chance. I am also looking for a college in the area. I'd like to stay around my family."
Wilson earned all-district and all-tidewater honors after hauling in 30 receptions for 690 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior.
