Ortmann an Aggie in the making

Klein, Texas, tight end Mark Ortmann could be Texas A&M Aggie if the Michigan Wolverines don’t get serious in his recruitment. Ortmann (6-7, 265-pounds) is a Midwesterner at heart, but has fallenin love with College Station of late.
“I visited Texas A&M for the Tech game and really had a good time,” Ortmann said. “Right when I got there, the coaches rushed me into the elevator and up to Coach (Dennis) Franchione’s office upstairs. It was just me, my parents and him – that was pretty cool. They are my top school right now. I’m just going to call Michigan and see where they are with me.

“I don’t plan on taking my all five visits and want to get this thing behind me.”
The Aggies are recruiting Ortmann as an offensive tackle and he will take an official visit December 10 to Texas A&M.
“I really like where their program is going and what Coach Fran is doing,” he said. “I’ve been to several of their camps and I am familiar with the campus.”
Ortmann still considers Northwestern in his top three, but has yet to set an official visit date.
