Oregon State pursuing New York ATH

Oregon State has elevated their status on the national college football scene in the past decade but it's still might strike some as a bit odd that there's a mutual interest between the Beavers and a New York athlete.
Strange though that may seem, it's true. Endicott (N.Y.) Union-Endicott junior athlete Jordan Thomas has taken a strong interest in the Oregon State program.

"I just got done talking to Oregon State, actually," Thomas explained on Wednesday evening. "I was talking to their wide receivers coach and just seeing what's going down there.
"He's a great guy. He's a really, really good guy. He was talking to me about the campus and the family atmosphere around there. I'm really going to take something like that into consideration."
Thomas said Oregon State is the only west coast school he has been in contact with recently.
Would that distance gap be a problem?
"No, not at all. I'm open to it very much."
While Oregon State is on Thomas' mind tonight, a couple of schools closer to home will be getting visits from him in the near future.
"I plan on going to UConn and Rutgers for their spring games," he said. "That's all I know of right now."
Thomas said he does not have any favorites nor does he have a timeframe for narrowing things down.
He holds offers from UConn, Maryland, Syracuse, Pitt and Rutgers.
