Oregon State lands sleeper

The Oregon State Beavers landed their first committal and are they glad did. The Beavers received the pledge from a sleeper prospect before the news of this talented football player left the Northwest.
Oregon State fans you picked up a good one in tight end Zach Hagemeister (6-4, 232, 4.58). On paper he sure fits the bill of a big time tight end prospect.

Hagemeister caught approximately 25 passes for close to 400 yards and scored five touchdowns as a junior. He was selected 1st-team all-league for his performance.
Hagemeister possesses good strength with 285 pound bench, squats 490, and power cleans 275. He also showed good explosion for a guy his size with a 32-inch vertical jump that he recorded at the Nike camp held at Eugene.
“The Beavers made their one phone call in May and invited me down for an unofficial visit to check out the campus,” Hagemeister said. “I was impressed by the head coach (Dennis) Erickson handled the offer.”
“Coach Erickson talked to my parents at the camp before he ever offered me and they liked Coach Erickson a lot,” Hagemeister said.
“I went to the Oregon State camp and I was given a verbal offer that I accepted on the spot,” Hagemeister said. “There was some talk about an offer, so I was thinking about it and when the offer was given it was an easy decision.”
“I think Coach Erickson is an all-around great guy,” said Hagemeister.
The scouting report on Hagemeister is he has great size and speed. He’s very athletic and participates in basketball and track.
The good thing about Hagemeister is he’s only going to get better. He has only played one season as a tight end. Hagemeister played running back as a sophomore, before changing to tight end. He will return to running back his senior season.
The Beavers win the services Hagemeister over Stanford, Oregon, Cal, Washington and Boise State, other teams that showed interest.
This is a nice get for the Beavers.
