Oregon State lands QB

The Oregon State Beavers received the verbal commitment from a player who some say has the most upside out of any quarterback in the northwest when the Beavers landed signal-caller Jake Gelakoska (6-3, 210, 4.6) from Mill Creek (Wash.) Jackson.
"I like the University and think I will get a lot help there," Gelakoska said. "The coaches are great and it is a good fit. I wanted to get it over with so I could concentrate on my senior year."

"Coach Mike Riley is a great guy," Gelakoska said. "Nobody that I have talked to had a bad thing to say about Coach Riley. He's a very respected person."
"I will attend the Oregon State football camp this weekend," Gelakoska said. "I will be down there for a couple of days.
"I'm an Oregon State Beaver now and I'm ending my recruitment."
One of the best kept secrets out west is how good the quarterback talent is in the Northwest and Oregon State landed one of the best.
Gelakoska earned all-state (HM) and all-league honors after throwing for 1,938 yards and 17 touchdowns. He can also make plays with his feet as he picked up 360 yards and scored seven touchdowns on the ground.
The Beavers get a quarterback who has the all important leadership skills that the position requires. He's a hard worker and has a great passion for the game.
Gelakoska fits the profile of the modern day quarterback who is very athletic. He also has good arm strength and is an excellent decision maker.
Gelakoska worked on his skills at Greg Barton's quarterback camp and attended the NIKE Camp held in Eugene. He is currently at his team camp getting himself ready for his senior season.
Nice get for Oregon State.
