Oregon State intriguing to Tennessee ATH

Three-star Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell athlete Jordan Wilson has seen his recruitment explode this spring, with offers coming in from all of the major five power conferences. But one school continues to intrigue him, Oregon State.
"The one that caught my eye the most was probably Oregon State," The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Wilson said. "That one really surprised me just because I didn't know they were looking at me. I've been talking to the defensive line coach since they offered me and I think pretty highly of him. They like me at defensive end and that would be something new for me but I like that."

Wilson has played primarily tight end during his high school career, but the Beavers, like several programs, view the ultra athletic Wilson as a potential hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker. This spring, Wilson has been working to add weight to his frame so he can transition to defense at the next level if needed.
"By the time my senior year starts I want to be up to about 235," he said. "I'm working at defensive end this offseason. I've never actually played it in a game before so I'm learning about the position and how to do it."
Because Oregon State had the faith to offer Wilson without seeing him in person first, he said he plans on returning the favor with a visit to Corvallis this offseason.
"I think I'll be able to get up there sometime soon," Wilson said. "I want to do it either this spring or in the summer."
Because of his potential, several major programs are hoping to see Wilson workout in person this summer. He said he's planning an extensive camp schedule.
"I'm going to camp at Tennessee as a defensive end and I'll go to a couple of other SEC schools," he said. "Michigan wants me to camp as a tight end so that's on the schedule too."
Wilson recently added an offer from West Virginia and he said several other programs are on the cusp of adding to his list as well.
"I think North Carolina might be the next one," he said. "They're showing a lot of interest. Kentucky also really likes me so I'm waiting to see what they're going to do."
