Oregon State impresses local recruit

Blake Brandel recently visited Oregon State again and the Beavers seem to have an edge in his recruitment although it might still be early.
"I went to the Oregon State spring game," Brandel said.

"It was really fun. I got to talk to coach (Mike) Riley for a little bit and I watched the game. It was a good, fun, family atmosphere. I loved it. I had a great time.
"I've been down there a few times watching games. I've grown up kind of watching Oregon State so I've been down there over the course of my life."
The 6-foot-7, 250-pound offensive tackle from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic has only heard incredibly positive things from the Oregon State coaching staff.
The Beavers have offered and they've made it blatantly clear they would love to have Brandel in this recruiting class.
"They keep saying they wish I could sign right now," Brandel said.
"They're pushing pretty hard. They really want me it seems like. It's a good feeling. They don't want to push me but they're always saying they wish I could sign right now."
The Portland Central Catholic standout definitely appreciates the attention and there's no question Oregon State is in great shape with Brandel but he said he wants to take his time with making a decision.
So far, Oregon State, Washington State and Nevada have offered. Brandel said BYU, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Boise State, Colorado and Washington are reaching out.
Because so many new offers can come in soon, Brandel does not want to make a decision just yet.
"I'm going to play things out, enjoy them, make sure I get all my offers and then weigh my decision," Brandel said. "I want to see how things go."
