Oregon St lands talented corner

Every time we talked to Oakland (Calif.) McClymond's head coach Alonzo Carter, the one thing he was fairly certain of was his standout defensive back Patrick Henderson would wind up at Oregon State. Henderson visited Corvallis this past weekend and sure enough, he's a Beaver.
"I basically knew I would commit there before the visit," Henderson said. "I really like Oregon State and the way they play their corners. They're tough and physical and that's my game too. Plus I like the Pac 10, I've always wanted to play in the Pac 10 and I think Oregon State was just the best overall fit for me of all the schools I was looking at."

Henderson, 5-10, 170 pounds, is a very athletic player who clocked a 4.53 in the 40 and a 4.18 in the shuttle at the Nike Camp in Stanford last summer. He's a potential shut down corner for the Beavers and a player who could make an early impact.
"They lose some players in the secondary so I'm hoping to play early," Henderson said. "I'm just going to go in there and work hard and see what happens. My commitment is solid, I won't be taking any more visits. I was going to visit Boise State but I'm done with recruiting."
Henderson had earlier visited San Diego State and also had an offer from Utah
