Oregon Scores Twice

Oregon will now be the new No. 2 team in the Pac 10 recruiting race after landing two very big commitments earlier today.
"Willie (Glasper) and Terrance (Kelly) both committed to Oregon," Concord (Calif.) De La Salle athletic director and defensive coordinator Terry Eidson said. "They both told the other schools that were recruiting them about their decision and also officially committed to the Ducks. For Willie, it was a pretty easy decision, Oregon has been his top school since the summer.

"With Terrance, he really liked Cal and UCLA too but Oregon was where he felt the most comfortable and where he thinks he has the best future. You know Jackie (Bates) is already going there too so between the three of them, they're all pretty excited to be playing together again."
Glasper, 5-11, 170 pounds is our No. 1 rated cover corner in the West Coast and a three year starter for the Spartans. He clocked a 4.34 in the 40, 3.83 in the shuttle and jumped 34 inches in the vertical while locking up every receiver he went up against in the one on one drills.
"Willie is a very physical player and that will help him a lot in college," Eidson said. "He has great closing speed and is very smart. He's one of those kids who already watches a lot of film to try and pick certain tendencies in the receivers he's going up against. That should carry over well for him in college too but the thing I really like about him is how tough and physical he is."
Kelly, 6-0, 210 pounds emerged this season as possibly the top linebacker prospect in the West and was one of the top three or four defensive players all week during the CaliFlorida practices. Like Glasper, Kelly was a 1st team All-State selection this past season and could play 'backer or even safety in college.
"He's a great athlete," Eidson said. "He can really run, has great instincts and is very quick to the ball. He's one of those players who reads and reacts so well. Some players can't see a play developing but Terrance can read plays so quickly and then has the athletic ability to go and make the play. He's actually athletic enough to play safety in college and I'm not sure where he's going to end up but he's going to be a good one."
Glasper chose the Ducks after also visiting Arizona State. He canceled scheduled trips to Washington and Cal. Kelly visited Cal, UCLA and Arizona State and canceled a scheduled trip to Washington. Oregon's class is shaping up very nicely and if they can land a big time running back, could finish in the national top 10 come February.
