Oregon RB has elite talent

Gresham (Ore.) Barlow running back Malcolm Johnson looks like one of the top three prospects in the state out of the class of 2009. Johnson has been putting up big numbers since his sophomore season and recently picked up his first scholarship offer.
Johnson, 5-10, 190 pounds has all the skills you look for in a college running back. He has a nice combination of size and speed, runs hard, is elusive in the open field and has a very solid work ethic.

As a sophomore, Johnson rushed for 1,806 yards and 15 touchdowns and followed that up with a 2,500 yard, 22 touchdown season a year ago. He earned all-conference, conference Player of the Year and all-state honors for his efforts.
On the recruiting front, Johnson has one offer and letters from a host of schools.
"Boise State has offered me," Johnson said. "I'm also hearing from Oregon State, Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Boston College, Alabama, and Notre Dame.
"My dad played at Oregon State, both of my parents actually went there so that was my favorite school growing up. Right now, I'm wide open though and don't have any favorites. I'm open to everyone recruiting me and just want to take my time with the recruiting process before making my decision."
Johnson is carrying a 3.3 GPA and will attend the NIKE Camp at Oregon in June.
