Oregon QB has first offer

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Oregon has a solid tradition of producing quarterbacks over the years and one of the best offerings the state has had at the position in a while is 6-foot-2, 194-pound pro-style quarterback Nick Green of Portland Central Catholic.
He first emerged onto the scene at last year's Elite 11 regional quarterback camp in Las Vegas. Then he took in a double-dip this past weekend with another regional camp at Cal and then participating in the NIKE Training Camp at Stanford University. He said all in all he was pleased with his weekend, but he is also his biggest critic.

"I had a pretty good weekend," he said. "I could always do better. I just wanted to go out there and compete with some of the best quarterbacks in the country.
"The Elite 11 workouts wasn't what I was hoping to do. I've been doing a lot better in practice than what I did at the Elite 11 workout. I can always do better in everything I do. I just like to compete and get out there and have fun."
Green had a strong day at the NIKE Camp on Saturday, though. He was especially strong on throwing the longer routes.
"I like the comeback a lot, the 18 back to 15," he said. "If a receiver runs it right and the line gives you enough time, then that's impossible to cover."
Green has racked up his first scholarship offer.
"Air Force has offered, so that's my only offer option," he said. "I know they're going to ask for an athletic quarterback that can also throw the football. They seem like a great school. I have a friend that went down there for a volleyball tournament, and he said their facilities are amazing. And it would be an amazing place to go to school and play football."
Other schools are definitely interested, though.
"A lot of schools are showing of interest like Oregon State and Purdue lately," he said. "So that's kind of cool getting attention from them. I'd love to get an offer from the Pac 10, but right now it's Air Force. But if anybody would offer, I'd be very interested.
"I'll also be at Eugene NIKE Camp and the Elite 11 Regional in Las Vegas. I'm going to try to get out to see some camps. I'll probably go out to Oregon State day camp, a Portland State day camp, Washington day camp and an Oregon day camp."
