Oregon offer intrigues Davis

Justin Davis had been talking to the Oregon coaches but he was even a little surprised an offer cam from the Ducks on Thursday.
It was one school the four-star running back from Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln had been waiting for and it could be a big-time player in his recruitment moving forward.

USC is still the odds-on favorite for Davis, rated as the fifth-best running back and No. 48 prospect in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, but the Oregon offer is intriguing. Oklahoma has also played a major role throughout his recruitment.
"It does open up my eyes a little bit more," Davis said. "I was waiting for it and now it's really interesting to have that offer.
"I always watch them on TV and they've been winning a lot lately. It's a really appealing school. That's why it opens up my eyes a little bit. I probably want to visit sometime in the near future but not immediately. I'll make my way up there sooner or later."
Davis, who rushed for 2,380 yards and 36 touchdowns in his junior season, said his plan to commit in May still has not changed but that won't negate any official visits he wants to take.
After his pledge in the next month or so, Davis said he will keep the option open to take trips in his senior year and Oregon would probably be one of them.
"I'm still probably going to commit in May but that doesn't leave out any officials I'm going to take," Davis said. "I'm still going to take some. I want to go on some and one might be to Oregon."
The four-star running back has offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Colorado, Florida State, Houston, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Purdue, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
