Oregon lands stellar LB

The Oregon Ducks flew south to familiar hunting grounds and landed a verbal commitment from one of southern California’s best linebackers in Jerome Johnson (6-2, 235, 4.5) from Los Angles (Calif.) Dorsey.
Johnson will join former Dorsey alums Steven Moore and Marques Binns.

“Having Steven and Marques will make it easier on me,” Johnson said. “I won’t be as homesick with them up there.”
Johnson lived up to his reputation as one of the area’s best linebackers. He was selected 1st-team all-city as a senior after accounting 139 tackles,21 tackles for loss, 12 ½ sacks, six fumbles caused, three fumbles recovered and one pick.
Johnson also stood out as a tight end catching 19 passes for 336 yards and seven touchdowns.
Oregon is bringing Johnson in as an athlete.
Washington and USC also showed interest in Johnson.
“I went to the Oregon summer camp and I liked the environment,” Johnson said. “Oregon also has my major which will be kinesiology.”
“I chose Oregon because it’s close to home and yet out of California,” Johnson said. “I’ve always liked Oregon and I’ve wanted to go Oregon ever since the ninth grade.”
The Ducks land a good one here.
