Oregon lands R250 QB Green

Woodbury (Minn.) East Ridge class of 2016 quarterback Seth Green has announced his college decision and the four-star prospect is headed to the Pac-12.

Green narrowed his nine scholarship offers down to a top three of Michigan State, Minnesota and Oregon last month and chose the Ducks in a Wednesday morning announcement ceremony at his school.
"I felt at home there and I really connected with the coaches. Also, I loved everything about the school - not (even) including football - and when you tie all of that together it just felt like the place for me."
Oregon hosted Green twice in the span of three months. His first trip to the school was in mid-June when he participated in the Duck's summer camp. A month after that performance the coaching staff sent word that they were offering him a scholarship.
"It felt very good considering I had to work for it and showed everything I should have," Green said at the time. "I went out to their camp, passed all the measurable and all the off-the-field stuff."
A return trip took place in early September when Green attended their Sept. 6 contest against one of his other finalists, Michigan State. The leadership shown by the Duck's current quarterback, Marcus Mariota, caught the four-star's attention and he liked the fit for his skill set in their offense.
Minnesota appeared to make the strongest push, hosting Green for an unofficial visit this past weekend and then having him back on campus less than 24 hours before his decision was made.
With his team in the midst of a 5-1 season, Green relishes the opportunity to return his focus completely back to his high school team and have the recruiting process off his mind.
"(It) really helps a lot, kills a lot of outside distractions," Green commented.
Green becomes the second commitment for the 2016 class for Oregon, following Portland four-star safety Brady Breeze who started the class off in July. Being an early commit and the quarterback of the class, Green plans to be active in getting others to join him in Eugene.
"I'd like to help recruit for them," Green said.
Through five games this season the 6-foot-2, 203-pound Green has completed 56.2 percent of his passes for 1,319 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 432 yards and three more scores.
