Rivals100 defensive end Jashon Cornell has a West Coast trip planned in June, and he just added another school to his itinerary after Oregon offered Thursday.
"I have been talking to them for about a month and a half," Cornell said. "They have been really interested in me, they just had to do some research on me, do some background and ask people around Minnesota about me. They came in to see how I looked and offered me today."
Cornell had already planned on visiting Pac-12 schools like USC, UCLA, California and Stanford in mid-June. Now, Oregon could be a stop on that tour.
"I will probably check them out in June when I go to the West Coast," Cornell said. "The West Coast interests me a lot because of living that West Coast lifestyle. The Pac-12 is a good conference that produces good players and I feel I can go out there and dominate the Pac-12."
Although the offer is new, Cornell has already put in research on the Oregon football program and university and is attracted to what they offer.
"Oregon has the No. 1 Sports Management School," Cornell said. "That's an eye-opener because Sports Management would be a good job to have and you'd always be around sports the rest of your life."
Before Cornell heads out to the West Coast, the St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham Hall four-star will make a visit to a Big Ten school.
"May 30 I am going to Ohio State," Cornell said. "I haven't been out there yet so that is going to be a pretty fun trip for me to check them out. I'm ready to meet the man in charge - Urban Meyer."
Cornell will be featured later in June as one of the select few invited to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by Under Armour in Baltimore, Md.
