Oregon, Bama latest offers for DE

Early in the recruiting process, Dallas White strongside defensive end Micah Howeth was mentioned as one of the top prospects in the state of Texas. But a injury riddled junior season kept some schools from offering him a scholarship. That’s all changed after a monster senior season.
“My coach has been sending out tapes, and I think the coaches really like it,” Howeth, who is 6-foot-2 and 236 pounds, said. “I just picked up two new really big offers.”

Big offers? Like from who?
“I just got an offer from Alabama and from Oregon,” Howeth said. “Alabama sent me the offer in the mail last week and then the coaches called me here this week to ask me about coming out there for a visit. I set it up for January 23.”
Then there is Oregon.
“I had no clue that they even recruited Texas,” Howeth said. “I was a little surprised because that’s so far away from here. But they sent the offer and then they called and talked to me. I’m now going out there to visit on the 16th of January.”
Howeth, however, continues to list a team that’s been with him from the beginning as his leader.
“I still really like Iowa State,” he said. “They were with me at the beginning and they’re still my leader. I’m going to visit them on January 9.”
Howeth has already visited Baylor and is set to visit Kansas on December 19, but he said he might bump the Jayhawks if Kansas State offers him this week.
“They told my coach to expect an offer,” he said. “So, if they offer, I’ll definitely go visit them, too.”
