Oregon and Tennessee have the attention of Jarvier Morton early

ATLANTAJavier Morton has about a month until he starts his sophomore year at Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson. Before he ended his freshman year, he was offered a scholarship by 10 different schools.

California, Colorado, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon and Tennessee have already offered the 6-foot-1, 187 pound defensive back.

It all happened so fast.

"All of the offers came at one time, so it was pretty exciting when it happened," said Morton. "Every offer I have so far came in one week, so it all happened fast and it felt great."

Coaches have already started communicating with Morton and they have complimented his size, his play and his feet. One school that has already hosted him on campus is Tennessee. The Vols have had him in Knoxville twice.

"I have hung out up at Tennessee a couple of times and I like everything up there. I like the coaches, I like the facilities and it is all nice.

"It is intense when it needs to be, but it has the nice chill feel to it too. I like Tennessee a lot right now. They might be my top school."

A school much farther from Morton's home has been on his radar for years. The Ducks of Oregon have offered and that is the school he grew up following.

"I have always been an Oregon fan," said Morton. "I like how they play, I like their speed and I love their uniforms.

"I have heard how nice it is up there and I have heard great things about their new coach (Willie Taggert) too. I really want to get up there and see what it is like."
