Orangemen pick up athletic QB

Syracuse picked up a quarterback commitment from a sleeper in New York. John Kinder, from Cedarhurst Lawrence Senior High School, committed to the Orangemen over Rutgers, Oregon, UConn, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and others.

"John committed to Syracuse actually on Friday and then he went to their spring game on Saturday," said his high school coach, Lou Andre. "He's a great guy and is a great athlete. He's a true spread option quarterback and can also play under center. He has a great arm and his arm strength is just phenomenal."

As a junior Kinder threw for 14 touchdown passes and ran for 13. He's also a big time lacrosse athlete. Kinder is 6-3 and 190 pounds.
