Oquendo still remains open

Hackensack, N.J. safety/wide receiver Danny Oquendo was planning on taking a few unofficial visits this August, but things haven't worked out. Has he set up any official visits?
"Not yet, I hope to do that soon," said the 6-foot-2, 170-pounder. "I know for sure that I'm going to take official visits to Maryland and Rutgers and the others will be between Virginia Tech, Boston College and Pitt. A lot depends on if Virginia, Michigan or Notre Dame offer me, because I like all three of them as well."
Oquendo had been rumored to be leaning towards Maryland and some thought a commitment might happen earlier this summer.
"It's always been between Maryland and Rutgers as my top two, but the other schools are close behind," he said. "I never wanted to make a decision this summer, I need to take my officials and see how the schools compare."
One team rising for Oquendo is Virginia Tech.
"Virginia Tech always has a good team year in and out and they're in the ACC which is basically one of the top conferences in the nation right now," he said. "I really want to take a visit there if I can, but a lot depends on what new offers I get if any."
As a junior, Oquendo caught 32 passes for 600 yards and six scores on offense. On defense he made 60 tackles with three inteceptions.
