Opelika athlete already ready

The big game in the state of Alabama this upcoming Friday is starting to look like Opelika and Phenix City Central. And sure enough, Opelika quarterback-athlete Will Herring is already ready.
"I wish we could play today," Herring said. "I can stand those guys. We want to go out there and pound them."

Well, if Opelika and Herring continue to play like they have been, it might just happen.
Herring in last week's blowout victory over Northview threw for and ran for a touchdown. For the season he's ran for five scores and threw for two touchdowns.
"I'm happy," he said. "Winning is the biggest thing. The stats are good, but the wins are better."
On the recruiting front, Herring still has offers on the table from Auburn and Middle Tennessee State. He said Auburn is his leader over Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Middle Tennessee State.
"I like what I see at Auburn," he said. "But I still want to go through the process. I just don't want to rush to a decision - even if it's a place like Auburn where I know I could be happy. You don't rush these types of things."
