All that stands between Grossmont (Calif.) Community College cornerback Kweishi Brown and a college decision is a trip to Arizona State.
That visit will take place on Jan. 17, and an announcement will come on its heels. The situation is that simple. Things here are cut and dry. He actually may make his choice public before he finishes his travels.
"I already know how the coaches are at ASU," Brown said. "I just want to see how the campus and the facilities are. I'll probably have a decision right after the visit - maybe while I'm up there. I don't know. You never know."
Brown's other finalist, Nebraska, will have to wait to see how the story ends. His visit to the Huskers' campus in already in the books. And when he tours ASU, he'll have plenty to which to compare it.
"The facility at Nebraska was nice," Brown said. "The people there were really important to me. The coaching is definitely nice. The only thing is the weather. And it's kind of far for me. I don't know. I just have to compare it to ASU."
Brown is currently scheduled to visit West Virginia on Jan. 14, but that trip has come into question recently. At this juncture the idea of the Mountaineers as a third finalist seems to be fading.
"I don't know if I'm going to even make that visit or not," Brown said. "We'll see."
According to Brown, who will have three years to play two seasons at the school of his choice, the most important thing when making his choice will be the availability of early playing time.
"I'm looking to definitely go in and play right away," Brown said. "I don't have much time on my clock."
