Getting to know Doering
Who is your favorite athlete? "I don't know. Maybe Dan Stevenson. He went to my school and now he's at Notre Dame."
What is your favorite food? "I'll eat anything. But I guess you could say steak."
Have you thought about playing in the NFL? "Yes. Who wouldn't want to. It would be cool. I've thought about it, but that's a long time away."
How many scholarship offers do you have? "I think right now I have about 30 offers."
What schools have you visited? "So far I've visited Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Illinois. I was at Illinois watching my team in a 7 on 7, so I guess that's a visit. The next visits I take will probably be my official visits."
Have you decided on your official visits? "Right now I know Iowa, Nebraska, and Notre Dame will be three of my visits. There's a big list of others. I'll wait till the season starts to narrow it down."
Do you have a leader or leaders? "The three schools I said I would make official visits to would kind of be my top three, but not really."
What are some things that will be important in terms of selecting a college? "Education will definitely be a consideration. That will be one major part. How I like the coaches. I want to see what the head coach's views are."
What will be your college major? "Communications I think."
