Kalvin McRae of Decatur (Ga.) Avondale is the real deal at 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds. With his combination of power and speed, he can run around or through defenders.
"Last year I had got the ball 119 times and picked up 1,011 yards on the ground,” said McRae, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds. “I also had 345 yards receiving."
McRae has his first offer and expects others to come soon.
"Right now I have one scholarship offer from the University of Pittsburgh, they offered me as a running back. Most other schools are looking at me as a running back and safety."
While he is receiving mail from numerous schools he says that Pittsburgh, Clemson, Auburn and Alabama are his top four.
"I have camped at Clemson and at the South Carolina one-day camp,” he said. “I'm also in the process of planning a visit to Pittsburgh as soon as I get my results back from the SAT."
"I think I'm going to wait until around signing day or at least after the season to weigh my options and make sure I'm going to the right place for me."
