One of the best in Alabama could commit any day

Myles Mason could commit any time now.

The 6-foot-2, 185 pound safety out of Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville has wanted to commit before, but he hasn't felt ready. Five schools are still in the mix and a decision is nearing for Mason.

"I am pretty close to committing," said Mason. "I am taking it day to day right now. I know it is on my mind, I know I am close and as soon as I feel 100-percent about a school, I will be committing to it.

"Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State and LSU are the schools I am still considering and it could be any one of them. All five are about the same. No school has really pulled ahead yet. As soon as it does, I will commit.

"I am really working to get to that point."

When asked about the five finalists, many of the answers were about the same. They were centered around the coaches, the trust and how he fits into the program.

Mason likes how those schools have kept it "real" with him and recruited him over time. The facilities caught his attention at Clemson, he mentioned how LSU is 'DBU' and the feeling he has when in Tuscaloosa (Ala.), but all in all, he said about the same things about each school with just different coach's names inserted.

He now is waiting for that moment he feels that school is right for him.

"It is just going to be a feeling that I have one day," said Mason. "I have been praying about it and I hope to wake up one day soon with that feeling about a school.

"I really want to get it over with, so I think it happens soon. I want to focus on school, focus on the season and leave recruiting to the side.

"I could commit tomorrow. I could commit next week. I do not know when it will be, but I feel it will definitely be soon."
