One of Louisianas best waits on offers

Coaches in the state of Louisiana know about Patrick Lewis. The offensive lineman for East St. John's High School in Reserve, La. has earned enough respect around the state to be named to back-to-back 5A all-state teams. And he still has a year left to play. Though he has no offers to date, the 6-foot-1, 315-pounder should have many schools learning what the state of Louisiana already knows.
"I just got back from a football banquet," Lewis said on Wednesday night. "It went pretty well. I got all of my awards and accolades tonight so it went pretty well. I enjoyed myself."

'Pretty well' is probably an understatement. The aggressive lineman was named to every team possible including first team All-State, All-Metro, All-Area and All-Parrish. Though the offer list isn't showing it yet, there is no doubt that college interest is on the way.
"Right now recruiting is kind of slow," he said. "I haven't heard from any schools but a couple coaches stopped by. Pat Washington from Mississippi State, Coach Poore from Northern Illinois, Coach Perot from Louisiana Tech, I got to talk to all of them.
"Pat Washington stood out the most," Lewis continued. "He really got into detail about how it worked at Mississippi State and how things go. He said next time he comes down he'll watch me practice."
Lewis has several schools still keeping him interested and even one school that offered him as a sophomore.
"Tennessee offered me as a Sophomore but we haven't heard from them since then," he said. "I'm definitely interested in LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn and Arkansas. I'd like to hear more from the University of Houston."
While recruiting has been staying on the backburner for Lewis, he has been working hard in preparation for his senior season.
"I've been working hard everyday Monday through Thursday and sometimes on Friday," he said. "I just want to basically go back to square one with my technique and just continue to get better."
Lewis also has some tentative plans for spring camps.
"I'll be attending the Nike Camp at LSU on April 27th," he said. "I'll probably end up going to the LSU camp the first session in June and hopefully I'll be able to go to the University of Houston camp too."
